Role of a Complaint Committee
« on: June 15, 2010, 04:11:12 PM »
The existence of a complaint committee acts as a deterrent for each and every person working within an organisation. It enables men and women in the organisation to know that if a case of sexual harassment is reported, the committee is there to act on it. It is one of the most essential mechanisms towards creating a safe and healthy workplace.

There are also organisations, which have complaint committees but they are ineffective. In order to ensure that complaint committees are functioning actively, every organisation must think of ways and mechanisms to address the issue of sexual harassment. Although complaint committees exist to address sexual harassment cases, they can also play a key role in undertaking trainings and developing the knowledge base of staff on the issue of sexual harassment and measures towards its prevention.
